Specialist Talent

We recruit for the games industry, and everyone doing it here came out of the industry themselves. That covers permanent search, contract and freelance cover, and embedded squads when a single hire will not do it. We charge 12.5% of the starting salary, whoever you end up hiring.

What we do

Space Rangers is a specialist recruitment team connecting studios with the people who build games.

Permanent search

We are always looking

Our recruiters talk to people at every level all year round, from juniors to the ones running studios, so the search does not start from scratch when your brief lands. Most of the time we are already in conversation with someone who fits it.

  • Technical and creative leads
  • Principal and senior engineers
  • Producers and discipline heads
  • Executive search
  • Replacement and succession hiring

Why partner with us

One group, four studios, and the same principles on every engagement.

01

We hold one standard

Space Rangers fills roles inside the group as well as for clients. Our own studio heads brief the same recruiters and read the same shortlists you will.

02

We have done this before

Twenty-five years and 800-plus game launches sit behind the group, so we know what a producer or a discipline head actually does day to day. When we talk to a candidate we can talk about the work itself, and that is usually what decides whether a good one says yes.

03

We came out of the industry

The people doing the recruiting have worked in games themselves. Candidates take the call because of it, and we can usually tell when a CV is describing someone else's work.

04

We move when the role is urgent

Some hires can wait for exactly the right person and some cannot wait another month. Tell us which one this is and we will work to it, and if the brief is not going to find anyone at that salary or in that location we will say so early.

05

We actually play games

We have opinions about matchmaking, progression and UI because we play the things our teams build. It makes the conversation with a candidate more useful, and it helps us judge whether someone who was brilliant on a live service title will be right for a single-player game.
